A compact lock up and go bachelor pad for a New York based client who spends a couple of weeks a year in Johannesburg. The ‘floating apartment’ makes use of light steel frame construction with a cantilevered north facing deck with expansive views of Johannesburg’s northern suburbs. The existing cottage is maintained and used as structural support for a portion of the new house.
